Taking part in the Portumna Forest Marathon is a spiritual experience – while it tests the body physically, it soothes the mind in equal proportions. Choose from a 10k, Half Marathon, Full Marathon or 50km.

Féile Brian Ború

The Féile is an annual festival that celebrates the life and legacy of Brian Ború (founder of the O’Briens) – the most famous son of the historic and beautiful twin towns of Killaloe and Ballina.

Gaelforce Great Lake Swim

Take on the ultimate freshwater swimming challenge with the Gaelforce Great Lake Swim, the second event in the Gaelforce Great Swim Trilogy. Experience the mystical Lough Derg, where small islands dotted with ancient ruins lend magic to your swim.

Shorelines Arts Festival

Celebrating the arts in all its various forms with a particular emphasis on literature, visual arts, drama and music/song, the Shorelines Arts Festival also hosts workshops and opportunities for all groups within the ​local community.

Run The Bridges

The race goes through the picturesque towns of Ballina/Killaloe crossing the old and new bridges. The 10k race is chip timed with all finishers receiving a commemorative medal. This is a fundraising event for Ballina Primary School, Ballina, Killaloe. All abilities welcome!

Quest Lough Derg
