Portumna

Portumna is the northernmost harbour on the lake. The berths are of the concrete ‘submarine pens’ variety and it’s a delightful place to stop for the night. The harbour is on the edge of Portumna Forest Park which has fabulous waymarked walks and is just a ten minute walk from the town, where there is a good variety of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. In the centre of town you’ll find The Courtyard Café, well worth a visit! The road to the town passes various ruins and is tree lined. Make sure to visit the castle and its gardens too.
